Planning to skydive in Auckland but don’t have a car? Yes! Skydive Auckland offers free return transport from Auckland City, subject to availability, so you don’t need to organise your own way to the drop zone.
Skydive Auckland is located in Parakai, approximately 45 minutes from Auckland City Centre. If you’re staying in the city or visiting Auckland without a vehicle, our optional return transport makes getting to and from your skydive easy.
Does Skydive Auckland offer free pickup from Auckland City?
Yes. Free return transport from Auckland City is available for direct bookings, subject to availability. Pickup is available from:
- Auckland’s Sky Tower
- Selected Auckland City Centre hotels
- The Beer Spot in Huapai
For Sky Tower pickups, the van meets you at the base of the Sky Tower. If you’re staying at a hotel in the city, we currently offer pickup from selected hotels including the Grand Millennium, Pullman, Cordis, Hilton, MSocial, Sofitel Hotel and YMCA. When booking directly through the Skydive Auckland website, select the skydive with pickup option if you’d like to request transport.
How far is Skydive Auckland from Auckland City?
Skydive Auckland is located at 73 Green Road, Parakai, approximately 45 minutes northwest of Auckland City Centre by car. While the drop zone isn’t in central Auckland, the journey is straightforward and the free return transport means you can leave the driving to us. If you’re driving yourself, there is plenty of free onsite parking available.
How long does the Skydive Auckland pickup take?
If you’re using our Auckland City transport, you should allow approximately 5.5 hours from pickup until you return to the city. The actual tandem skydiving experience takes around three hours, but the total time includes travelling between Auckland City and Parakai, as well as the time required at the drop zone. It’s worth allowing plenty of time in your Auckland itinerary rather than booking another activity immediately afterwards.
Where do I wait for my pickup?
If you’re being picked up from Auckland’s Sky Tower, the van will meet you at the base of the Sky Tower. For hotel pickups, the exact meeting point can depend on the hotel, so make sure you check the pickup information provided by Skydive Auckland before the day of your skydive. Pickup times can also vary depending on your booking, so make sure you arrive at the designated meeting point on time.
Can I get to Skydive Auckland without a car?
Yes. Free city transport isn’t the only option. Skydive Auckland can also be reached by public transport. Auckland Transport’s Journey Planner can help you find the best available route. The journey via Westgate using buses 110 and 125 takes approximately 1.5 hours.
If you’re travelling by public transport, let the Skydive Auckland team know in advance. We can arrange to pick you up from the local bus stop.
What if I want to drive to Skydive Auckland?
Driving is easy, and there is free onsite parking available at the drop zone. From Auckland City Centre, the drive to Parakai takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Driving can also be a good option if you’re travelling with friends or family who want to watch your skydive from our viewing deck.
Can my friends or family come on the pickup?
Our courtesy van has limited space, so spectator places aren’t guaranteed.
If your friends or family are travelling with you, driving separately can be a better option. There is plenty of free parking onsite, and spectators can watch you land from our viewing deck.
Is the free pickup available with every booking?
Free return transport is subject to availability and is available for direct bookings. If you’d like to use the Skydive Auckland pickup service, make sure you select the pickup option when booking your skydive directly through our website.
