World Skydiving Day 2026. Skydive Auckland is Going for the World Record
On July 11 2026, Skydive Auckland takes part in World Skydiving Day for the third year running. Drop zones across 40+ countries jump simultaneously to break the world record for the most skydives completed in 24 hours. The record stands at 30,351, and every single jump counts toward it.
World Skydiving Day takes place on the second Saturday of July every year. It is a global event organised across 40+ countries where skydivers of all levels jump on the same day to set a world record. Every tandem skydive and every sport skydive counts toward the total.
What Happens at Skydive Auckland on World Skydiving Day
World Skydiving Day is one of the biggest days of the year at our Parakai dropzone. Our sports skydivers jump from sunrise to sunset, staff get in the air, and first-timers complete their very first tandem skydive in Auckland alongside everyone else. The dropzone is electric from the moment the sun comes up, planes in the air, people landing, and experienced skydivers heading straight back up for another jump.
Last year Skydive Auckland contributed 78 jumps to the global count. This year we are starting with sunrise loads and pushing to go further.
