Ian's 90th birthday skydive!
On Tuesday 30 April, Ian celebrated his 90th birthday with a skydive in Auckland. And, he also went all the way to the top at 18,000ft, highest skydive in the New Zealand!
Ian decided a while ago that he would take the leap for his 90th birthday at Skydive Auckland and that he would do it to fundraise for the Heart Foundation New Zealand. He took the leap with his 2 grandsons so it was really special to share the fabulous experience with his family!
Ian had a major heart attack in 2019, and a year later his wife had a serious heart condition, had open heart surgery, but didn’t pull through. So far Ian has raised an amazing $4000 and the total could get to $5000.
Ian said “What an awesome day. The weather was perfect for skydiving. Skydive Auckland had everything well organised and the staff, particularly my instructor Aaron were all great. As it was an event to help raise funds for the Heart Foundation I could not have asked for more.”
