Full-Time AFF Instructor | NZ Skydiving School

Love skydiving? Love teaching? How about getting paid to do both, five days a week?

Skydive Auckland is home to the New Zealand Skydiving School, and we’re on the hunt for an experienced AFF Instructor to join our team in a full-time, salaried position.

We’re not just teaching people how to jump out of aeroplanes. We’re training the next generation of professional skydivers!

Our NZQA-approved Diploma in Commercial Skydiving takes students from their very first jump through to developing the skills, knowledge and experience needed to launch a career in the skydiving industry. And we need someone awesome to help make that happen.

🪂 What’s the gig?

This isn’t your average AFF Instructor role. You’ll be jumping, teaching, mentoring and helping students turn their passion for skydiving into a career.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Running the show: Taking ownership of the day-to-day management of our student intakes, keeping training on track and students progressing.
• Getting in the sky: Delivering AFF instruction, coaching jumps and helping students develop their freefall and canopy skills.
• Teaching on the ground: Delivering engaging classroom and practical lessons across our Diploma curriculum, from skydiving fundamentals to equipment, meteorology, regulations and commercial DZ operations.
• Developing future professionals: Helping students progress beyond their A and B Certificates, building the skills and knowledge they’ll need to work in the industry.
• Mentoring and inspiring: Supporting students through the challenges, celebrating their wins and helping them become confident, capable and safety-conscious skydivers.

🤘 Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, we want someone who genuinely loves teaching. Being an awesome skydiver is one thing. Being able to share your knowledge, build someone’s confidence and get a real kick out of seeing them succeed? That’s what we’re after.

You’ll need to bring:

• A current AFF Instructor & DZSO rating and solid instructional experience.
• A genuine passion for coaching, mentoring and developing others.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to make learning engaging and fun.
• Great organisational skills and the confidence to manage multiple student intakes.
• A professional attitude towards safety, training standards and student progression.
• A willingness to get stuck into all aspects of teaching, both in the classroom and in the sky.
• The ability to commit to a permanent full-time, Monday–Friday role..
