Planting Day at Skydive Auckland

On 5 June 2024 we held another planting day, this time with students from both Kaipara College and St Peter’s College, with 1,610 native trees finding their forever home! These trees were grown by the students at their school and our Skydive Auckland team transported them over to our base and joined in with the planting.

We are committed to caring for our whenua and environment, which is why we are undertaking a conservation project to convert some of our land into wetland by planting with native trees. This will provide more oxygen-converters, increase biodiversity and reduce soil erosion in the flood-prone area.

Well done Kaipara College students and teachers. A job well done! After the planting we provided everyone with a sausage sizzle lunch which went down a treat.

Our ongoing conservation project includes working with Trees For Survival who coordinate the planting days with local schools. We also run a scheme whereby all of our skydiving customers are provided with the option to plant two trees and we then purchase native trees in bulk. So far we have now planted 5,126 native trees into their forever home on our land. Our task now is to ensure the trees are well looked after and the students are welcome to return to see their progress!
