Skydiving Fairies - Raising Money For Ella

We had an awesome fairy themed day this week! Those who had raised the $600 target to raise money for 4 year old Aucklander Ella, were treated to a 13,000ft skydive. Ella was here too and watched as fairies actually came down from the sky. Brilliant day and well done to everyone who took part. We are extending this fundraising cause until the end of March 2018 - so sign up NOW!

Ella was born at 25 weeks weighing 800 grams and was given a slim chance of ever leaving hospital. She has life long conditions: Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus and Epilepsy. Ella has been selected to undergo Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) at St Louis Children's Hospital in America.

Sarah from Baby Loss NZ faced her biggest fear - jumping out of a plane - during Baby Loss Awareness Month to help parents face their biggest fear and raise money for this cause. Due to lack of funding, the number of families that Baby Loss NZ were able to help this year has dropped significantly and it was great to welcome Sarah to Skydive Auckland to help her fundraise and this video clip was shown on TVNZ Newshub Click here to see more and watch the video.

Skydiving Fairies - Help Raise Money for Ella

We are hosting an event called 'Skydiving Fairies' on Saturday 2nd December, to raise money for Ella, a brave 4 year old Kiwi who desperately needs help.

Ella was born at 25 weeks weighing 800 grams and was given a slim chance of ever leaving hospital. She has life long conditions; Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus and Epilepsy. Ella has been selected to undergo Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) at St Louis Children's Hospital in America. Her surgeons believe that Ella will be able to walk with crutches and possibly even independently, giving her a whole new quality of life. This operation is not available to Ella in NZ, and due to restrictions in NZ to get support with overseas medical care, Ella needs over $150,000NZD to be raised.

Ella loves fairies and fairies come from the sky. Sign up to 'Skydiving Fairies' to raise money for Ella. Every fundraiser page that raises over $600 for the Skydive Auckland will receive a free tandem 13,000ft skydive. Find out more information or sign up to Skydive For Ella.

Radio Hauraki's Matt Ward is jumped out of an airplane with a "macgyvered" parachute!

We all wanted to be MacGyver when we were young.

Case in point: Jay Reeve & Matt Ward from the Hauraki Breakfast, Summer Edition.

The all-new MacGyver is coming to Prime and it’s bigger, badder, and more MacGyver than ever before.

To get in the spirit, Radio Hauraki decided to MacGyver something for real by making a parachute out of whatever they could get their hands on and then test it out by jumping out of a plane!
