Skydive Auckland Charity Event

We hosted a Pink Ribbon Breakfast last month at Skydive Auckland to raise money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.

By mixing up the skydiving action with some fundraising fun we raised a fantastic $2,500!

The BBQ was fired up by 8am with breaky sponsored by Skydive Auckland and NZPF (New Zealand Parachute Foundation). We donated 10% of the price of every directly booked tandem skydive taken during the event. Parakai Airfield donated the total landing fee of every Skydive Auckland flight during the day, raising $1000.  This was a substantial donation to the charity and really boosted the fundraising total.

Our regular sport skydiving community enjoyed a two-way scrambles competition organised by the NZPF. This game involved a series of acrobatic positions during freefall which were filmed by a separate camera flyer to keep score of points achieved.

Well done everyone. A fantastic day for all involved!

Tandem Skydiving at 90 Years Old!

Billy our tandem master is enjoying a bit of fame at the moment! And Ruby has become a bit of a skydiving super star.

Last month we had the pleasure of having Ruby out at our drop zone in Parakai. Ruby wanted to tick tandem skydiving off her buck list and at Skydive Auckland were the people to help.

At 90 years old she is a very cool and brave grannie. Ruby decided she didn’t want a cup of tea and cupcakes for her birthday… she wanted to go SKYDIVING!!! Ruby said ‘if she can do it, anyone can’. Billy looked after Ruby for her tandem skydive and was even lucky enough to have Ruby sing to him on their way down.

Skydive Auckland hosts Jump Start 2014

Skydive Auckland were lucky to host Jump Start 2014.

Jump Start was set up 8 years ago to raise funds to allow 50 kids living with cancer from CanTeen and Project K to complete a tandem skydive. This year all 50 kids got the chance to tandem skydive from Parakai with us from 13000ft.
